Sadaka Visiting Speaker programme
On the 15th October 2019, Noura Erakat, Human Rights attorney, assistant professor at Rutgers University, New Jersey and best selling author of Justice for Some: Law and the Question of Palestine, visited Dublin. Noura's research interests include human rights and humanitarian, refugee, and national security law. She is a frequent commentator, with recent appearances on CBS News, CNN, Fox News, and NPR, among others, and her writings have been widely published in the national media and academic journals.
At an event in Trinity College, the powerful, engaging and wonderfully articulate Noura enthralled the packed house both as a speaker and in answering questions from the floor.
The evening was hosted by Sadaka, Academics for Palestine, and the TCD MPhil in Race, Ethnicity and Conflict. The event was chaired by Marie Crawley, with a response from John Reynolds, Maynooth and a Q&A chaired by Ronit Lentin. Noura has reinforced the premise that she is one of the most important voices speaking on Palestine today.
